GoBack Definition

This is the patient who responded normally (collection of 5-15 eggs) to stimulation in a previous IVF cycle. If there is no history of previous treatment, she is typically < 35, has > 10 primordial follicles in both ovaries, and day 3 FSH level is < 8 mIU/mL.

Treatment Protocol

Start oral contraceptive pills on the 3rd day of the cycle. Start Suprefact nasal spray two puffs three times a day on the 20th day of the cycle. Ask the patient to come for a blood test and ultrasound on the third day of the next cycle. If there are no follicles or cysts > 10 mm, if the endometrium is thin, and estrdiol is < 50 pg/mL you can start stimulating the ovaries. The typical dose is 225-300 IU of Menogon/Gonal-F/Puregon. After 5 days of stimulation send the patient to the American Hospital for ultrasound and follow-up of the treatment.
